Not only are they a way to celebrate the start and ending of a project, but it gives an opportunity to examine your projects for what is needed and lessons learned. Tying into these activities is an overview of how to conduct a SWOT Analysis. Kickoff Planning - The Project Management Training Series outlines the essential steps, tools, and templates to build a successful recovery housing or other projects. Project Kickoff is a key point in the project lifecycle. This is when the project team and leadership all come together to get on the same page and start the project. This training will focus on understanding the materials needed for a successful kickoff for your rural recovery housing project. Closing Your Project - The Project Management Training Series outlines the essential steps, tools, and templates to build a successful recovery housing or other projects. This training will focus on closing out your project. It will review documentation and how to handle the last steps before you have completed the implementation of a Rural Recovery Housing Project. SWOT Analysis is a strategic tool organizations use to identify their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and 'threats.' The tool is a way to help a rural recovery house board agree on what they do best now and develop strategies for the future. This course covers the basics of SWOT Analysis and the basics of using the tool.

Presented by Tara Moseley Hyde, B.P.S., M.P.A.P., this course covers the definition of recovery community organization (RCO), describes the types of RCO's that support workforce and education development, and shares how you can support the startup or continuation of an RCO in your community. This course is based on information shared during the Fletcher Group Rural Center of Excellence's Building Rural Recovery Ecosystems Summit which took place in June 2022. The goal of the Summit was to enhance skills and knowledge in recovery ecosystem development by participating in a national conversation on improving the quality, capacity, and accessibility of substance use disorder rural recovery housing, recovery support services, and the broader ecosystems of the criminal justice system, and community collaboration.

Pregnant and Parenting Complexities in Recovery Housing

In this course, we will briefly touch on the prevalence of pregnant individuals with a substance use disorder; housing considerations for individuals that are pregnant, postpartum, and or parenting; recovery house partnerships; early recovery and parenting; medication to support recovery; infant withdrawal, needs, and other considerations; and provide a few national resources for deeper education and support.
