Chief Celisa Lehew, Chief of Police for the Chapel Hill Police Department, joins Recovery Ecosystem Radio to explore how law enforcement can serve as a critical front door for recovery. The discussion focuses on community policing, deflection, pre-arrest diversion, public safety, housing recovery, and how strong partnerships can connect people to Health, Home, Purpose, and Community rather than deeper involvement in the justice system. This episode reminds us that public safety and recovery are not separate; they are connected through dignity, trust, accountability, and real pathways to long-term recovery.
